The Ambassador, Sianga Abílio defended on September 24, 2022, in Nairobi, the necessity of the permanent propagation of the deeds of Dr. António Agostinho Neto, for its great importance in the history of the struggle for national liberation and conquest of the independence of the Republic of Angola.
The Head of the Diplomatic Mission of Angola in Nairobi who was addressing at the commemorative event of the Centenary of the birthday of Dr. Agostinho Neto, clarified that the politics was not the beginning and the end of Dr. António Agostinho Neto because on one hand he was a leader of the struggle for the national liberation, on the another he made the culture with prominence for writing another front of battle leaving for the current generation and for the coming generations the happiness of being independent people and the joy of being able to read and to learn with its literary workmanships the value of the humanism, freedom and social justice, a legacy that exceeded the borders of Angola transforming Dr. Agostinho Neto, one of the fathers of the struggle for the liberation of the African continent and all oppressed people of the world.
Ambassador Sianga Abílio emphasized as an example of its historical importance for the liberation of Africa, the fact that there exists in Kenya a politician with the name of Agostinho Neto.
The commemorative ceremony of the Centenary of Dr. António Agostinho Neto, was a co-organization of the Embassy and the Association of the Angolan Resident in Kenya and during the event a documentary on the life and work of Dr. António Agostinho Neto, founder of the Nation, first President of the Republic of Angola and National Hero was played.
The Association of Angolans Resident in Kenya took advantage of the event to carry out the process of renewal of its governing body having been re-elected Mr. Arnaldo Joaquim, to chair the Association in a new one year term.
The festivities of the Nation's Founder and National Hero's Day, in Nairobi, was commemorated by the participation of the Angolan Embassy staff, members of the Angolan community and foreign guests, with emphasis on Mozambican and Kenyan citizens.
