The Ambassador Sianga Abílio said on March 23, 2021, in Nairobi, to students at Strathmore University that young people must invest in training to take an active role in building Africa towards economic integration of the continent aiming at the realization of a continental free market, thus giving form to the pan-African dream of the promoters of the struggle for the self-determination of the peoples of Africa.
The Ambassador Sianga Abílio who also participated as a student in the International Relations course at the same University, drew the attention of his fellow students to the importance of applying the principle of intercultural communication in all sectors of life as it is a relevant instrument for the success of relations between peoples, countries and even in business.
To that end according to the Ambassador, interaction plays a great role in cross-cultural communication based on the principle that knowing how to understand cultural differences and respecting others opinions contributes to a better approximation and success in relations between peoples and countries.
In his dissertation Ambassador Sianga Abílio stressed the importance of the Transcultural Communication as a means to counter issues such as ethnocentrism, xenophobia, racism and various stereotypes, having alerted to the need for African states to invest in the implementation of public policies with emphasis on the education, technologies and innovation as one of the means to promote intercultural relations.
The head of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in Nairobi was part of a panel of speakers, mostly academics, invited by Strathmore University in Nairobi to speak on Transcultural Communication in an online meeting.
91 students from the International Relations course attended the meeting.
