The Angolan Ambassador Sianga Abílio received on January 24, 2022, in Nairobi, the new Ambassador of Malawi Callista Mutharika.
Ambassador Callista Mutharika, former First Lady of Malawi, went to the premises of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission for a courtesy visit.
During the meeting the Ambassadors of Angola and Malawi exchanged information on the current situation of their respective countries, talked about diplomatic activity in Kenya, including the multilateral aspect, at the United Nations Office in Nairobi and discussed issues related to the SADC Group.
Ambassador Callista Mutharika has served, among other positions, as Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Culture, Member of Parliament and Member of the Pan-African Parliament.
On the humanitarian front Ambassador Callista Mutharika established the Callista Mutharika Foundation, Safe Motherhood and Dignity for Adolescent Girls aimed at empowering women and girls in rural areas, in education, food sufficiency and maternal health.
