Ambassador Ismael Martins participated on behalf of the Republic of Angola in the electoral process in the Republic of Kenya, as Head Observer of the group of Electoral Observers from the member countries of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region - ICGLR, composed of 86 people.

In addition to the Ambassador Ismael Martins, also in the Republic of Kenya were as Electoral Observers Dra. Florbela Araújo, electoral observers in the Republic of Kenya, Dra. Florbela Araújo, Ombudsman of the Republic of Angola as part of the Observer Group of the African Ombudsmen Association, Ambassador Francisco José da Cruz, Permanent Representative of Angola to the African Union and Ambassador of Angola in the Republic of Ethiopia, José Octávio Serra Van-Dúnem, Director of the Centre for Legal, Economic and Social Studies of the Faculty of Law of the Agostinho Neto University, as part of the joint Observer Group of the African Union and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

The Kenya general elections were held on August 9, 2022, and during their stay in the Kenyan territory the Angolan Electoral Observers made separate courtesy visits to the premises of the Angolan Embassy in Nairobi.

During the visits, Engineer Sianga Abílio, Angolan Ambassador to Kenya and Permanent Representative of Angola to the United Nations Office in Nairobi, provided information on the work of the Diplomatic Mission, both bilaterally, with the Republic of Kenya, and multilaterally, within the framework of the United Nations.
