Ambassador Sianga Abílio said, on 11 November 2023 in Nairobi, that Angola is experiencing effective peace, political stability and an open market for any Kenyan or other nationality investor who wants to do business, because Angola is implementing a policy of diversifying the economy with an emphasis on agriculture, livestock, fishing, manufacturing, mineral resources and tourism.
Ambassador Sianga Abílio, who was speaking at the event commemorating the 48th Anniversary of National Independence, emphasised that it was in the interests of the Diplomatic Mission he heads that Kenyan businessmen work to establish partnerships with Angolan businessmen, in the quest to bring the two peoples closer together, to solidify the south-south relationship and to implement the African continental free trade zone.
For Ambassador Sianga Abílio, the Embassy's mission is to bridge the gap, because at the level of the highest magistrates of the two countries (Angola and Kenya), the order had recently been given in Nairobi, with the State Visit that the President of the Republic of Angola, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, made to Kenya from 19 to 21 October 2023, which resulted in the signing of 11 memorandums of understanding aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the areas of Wildlife Protection and Maintenance, Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Youth Development, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Health, Training for Public Administration and Diplomacy, Geology and Mining, Maritime Transport and Forestry.
In his speech, Ambassador Sianga Abílio highlighted the commitment of the President of the Republic, João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, to pass on Angola's experience of peace and national reconciliation to his African brothers and sisters, a fact demonstrated, according to the Ambassador, in the efforts of the President of the Republic, as Chair of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, Chair of SADC and in the mediation for the pacification of eastern DRC.
The event commemorating National Independence Day in Nairobi, which took place on the premises of the Angolan Embassy, was opened with a prayer session by the Reverend Leo Sumbo Bênção, General Secretary of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Angola (IEBA).
The 11 November celebrations in the Kenyan capital were attended by Ambassador Abesh Monari, Director for Africa and the African Union at the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, representing the Kenyan government, members of the diplomatic corps, the Angolan community, representatives of Kenyan society, especially Professor Patrick Lumumba, as well as other friends of Angola, such as the singer from the Democratic Congo, M'Bilia Bell.
