The Republic of Angola attended on 15th and 16th January 2024, a technical meeting in Kampala, Uganda, to prepare for the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.
The Angolan technical team was made up of Ambassadors Sara Silva, Director of Multilateral Affairs at the Ministry of External Relations, and Mr Sianga Abílio, Angolan Ambassador to Uganda with residence in Kenya, as well as officials from the Ministry of External Relations and the Diplomatic Mission.
Over a period of two days the delegates worked in two committees, one on political affairs and the other on the economy and social issues, whose mission was to prepare the documentation for the Ministerial segment, which will take place on 17th and 18th January 2024.
The work of the technical delegations from 120 countries and observer organisations from the Non-Aligned Movement corresponded to the first of three specific sessions that made up the Ministerial segment and the 19th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement, held on 19th and 20th January 2024, in Kampala.
The Non-Aligned Movement is a concert of nations that, among various objectives of general interest, promotes friendly relations between countries, defends the peaceful resolution of international disputes, as well as investing in the protection of human rights and the environment.
