His Excellency Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, participated from the 8th to the 13th of February 2020, in the Tenth World Urban Forum (WUF10) that took place in Abu-Dhabi City, United Arab Emirates.
His Excellency Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, was part of a delegation headed by His Excellency, Ana Paula de Carvalho, Minister of Spatial Planning and Housing which integrated His Excellencies, Aguinaldo Cristóvão, Secretary of State of Culture, Albino Malungo, Ambassador of Angola in the United Arab Emirates and staff members of the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Housing.
The Abu Dhabi Declaration contains several recommendations on the need to design sustainable cities that are resilient to climate change inclusive; cities of opportunity; cities that address various challenges, including the fight against poverty, the fight against gender inequalities, the violation of human rights and the fight against unemployment; cities that create conditions for health, education and that preserve culture and cultural diversity; and cities that protect and preserve the environment.
In sidelines of the Tenth World Urban Forum work sessions the African countries agreed on positions for the Summit on Sustainable Cities which will take place in Bordeaux, France, from 04 to 06 June 2020.
The next World Urban Forum (WUF11) will take place in Poland in 2022.
