Ambassador Mr. Sianga Abilio participated, on September 16, 2022, in Nairobi at a SADC Day commemorative event organized by the Diplomatic Missions of the SADC countries in Kenya.

SADC Day is celebrated on August 17, but because of the Kenyan electoral process and other scheduling issues its commemoration in Nairobi was postponed to September 16. 

In his speech the President of the SADC Group in Nairobi and Ambassador of DRC, Nyakeru Kalunga John, congratulated the Angolan people for the recent general elections and in particular the President of the Republic João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço for his re-election and subsequent inauguration.

The commemorative event of SADC Day, was attended by the Diplomatic Corps of the SADC Group, other invited Ambassadors, Ambassador Yabesh Monari, Director for Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, members of the communities of the countries of the SADC region, officials of the United Nations Programmes for Human Settlements - UN-HABIBAT and for the Environment -UNEP and other guests, who had the opportunity to taste a variety of typical dishes from SADC countries with emphasis on mufete, kalulu, cabidela and kizaka from Angola.
