The Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Nairobi, Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, represented Angola at the meeting between UNEP Representatives and the UN Resident Coordinators of about twenty African countries, in Nairobi from September 2 to 4, 2019.
The agenda of the meeting included approaches on the challenges that African countries are facing in the area of Environment and Climate Change, seeking ways to facilitate their solutions.
At one of the sessions of the meeting, UNEP Africa Office Director Juliette Biao Koudenoukpo called on UNEP Permanent Representatives to interact with UN Resident Coordinators from their respective countries on ongoing environmental actions.
In this perspective, the Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, addressed with UN Resident Coordinator in Angola, Paulo Balodeli, several issues related to the ongoing reforms in the UN institutions and the projects prepared for Angola, of which 20% already has funding.
