The Angolan Ambassador to Kenya, Sianga Abilio, said on Saturday, 09.11.2019 in Nairobi that the policies implemented by the Angolan government aim to overcome the difficult economic situation facing the country.

The Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, spoke as a guest at a November 11 commemorative event organized by the Angolan Community residing in Kenya.

In his speech, the Ambassador, Sianga Abílio, reiterated the government's commitment to the diversification of the economy, highlighting the need to replace imports with national production in order to guarantee the basic food basket for citizens.

The Ambassador reaffirmed the need for a good coexistence between the Embassy and the Angolan Community residing in Kenya and considered the Community initiative to celebrate the forty-fourth anniversary of National Independence as a patriotic and promoting the strengthening of National Unity.

Being mostly university and religious students, Ambassador Sianga Abilio encouraged the members of the Community to engage in their studies because the country needs qualified citizens capable of continuing the process of growth that Angola has been experiencing since 1975 to the date.

The commemorative event of the 44th anniversary of National Independence organized by the Angolan Community had as its stage the Marist International University of Nairobi, where some Angolan citizens are studying and had a playful part that was summed up in a dancing lunch.

The Angolan residents of Kenya presented typical dishes of Angolan cuisine, highlighting the “calulu” with “funge”.

The introductory part of the activity included the singing of the National Anthem and a prayer by an Angolan deacon studying in Kenya.
